SRG Technology is founded on the principle that there is always room for improvement.
Diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and autoimmune disease are increasingly being linked to poor digestive health and chronic stress. Job burnout and failing health of employees are often a result of too many long hours and not enough breaks, leading to higher costs to employers for health insurance and finding new employees. The answer is to make time for yourself to de-stress, prepare meals, exercise, see your doctor, etc.
To celebrate Self Improvement Month, SRGT has the following list of tips to start, or continue on, a path toward your personal improvement goals:
- Make time for meal planning: Eating out and ordering take-out adds countless calories, and potentially toxic additives, to your diet. A study by the Mayo Clinic shows that putting together a menu planning for the week help you meet your nutritional goals, and save you time and money (TRIPLE BONUS!). Our parent and child engagement partner, Parentivity, knows that health for parent and child is important, so with this method you’ll be guaranteed to meet those health-improvement goals. And with that extra time and money, you’ll be able to spend more time with friends and family without excess stress.
- Make time for daily exercise: An article from Mass General highlights the importance of making an exercise plan to improve overall health. Taking 30-60 minutes a day to walk, jog, swim, strength train, cycle or dance has benefits beyond weight-loss: mental health, mood, job productivity, energy levels, patience, blood flow, brain activity and more are all improved with the addition of an exercise plan in one’s life. So take a walk at lunch, go for a jog first thing in the morning, take a swim, sign up for a local gym- find what works for you. Your overall mood and sense of well-being will thank you.
- Meditate: Meditation is a time for someone to close their mind to any distractions one is facing to re-focus and re-center. An article in The Atlantic highlights educators using meditation in the classroom to improve students “attention and emotional regulation.” SRGT’s education solution, BlenderLearn™, knows the importance of personalization when it comes to learning and teaching, taking that time to re-focus makes that process even more personal for teacher and student. It’s important to know that meditation is personal- so if that means a moment to listen to just music or step in outside for 5 minutes- whatever fits your lifestyle, take that time and we believe you will see beneficial outcomes.
- Get Your Screenings: “It’s time to move from ‘sick care’ to ‘health care’,” as Adrian Zai, MD., our chief medical informatics officer, says. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention highlights the importance of health care screenings and what one should always be aware of during the year when it comes to one’s health. SRGT’s healthcare solution, TopCare powered by Blender™, is a software suite with applications that allow hospitals, clinics, practices and patients to keep track of screenings and monitor those who are due, or past-due, for these life-saving tests. Getting a handle on your health is about knowledge—get your screenings today.
